DiveDeeper Privacy Policy
Effective November 6, 2026
DiveDeeper is published by John Serian ("we"). This policy explains what the DiveDeeper app does with information. The short version: the app keeps your information on your device, and we don't collect it.
What stays on your device
- Your session history: the date, sound, length, tone program, whether the noise bed and tones were on, and your "Was this useful?" answer for each completed session, plus a count of completed sessions.
- Your preferences and app state: chosen sound, session length, volumes, tone and noise settings, favorites, the daily-nudge time, a running break's end time, and small flags such as "intro seen".
These are kept in the app's local storage on your iPhone or iPad. We don't receive them. Settings > "Erase favorites and history" removes your favorites, history, ratings and completed count; deleting the app removes everything. They may be included in your device backups (iCloud or computer), which Apple or you control.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your name, email, contacts, location, identifiers or usage data. The app has no account, no advertising, no analytics or tracking software, and no server of its own.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple. We don't receive your payment details. The app checks on your device which subscription your Apple Account holds, using Apple's StoreKit. Apple's handling of purchase data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Apple's analytics
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings (Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share crash reports and aggregated usage data with us. That is Apple's opt-in and you control it; the app itself sends nothing.
Notifications
DiveDeeper uses local notifications only: a "Break's over" alert after the optional 5-minute break (only if you have already allowed notifications for the app), a reminder two days before a free trial ends if you ask for one, and a daily nudge if you turn it on (scheduled at most three days ahead). The text is built on your device and shown by iOS. Nothing is sent through a server, and you can turn them off any time in iOS Settings > Notifications > DiveDeeper.
Audio and headphones
The app reads whether headphones are connected and whether Mono Audio is on, only to show a tip about binaural tones and to mute them when they can't work. This check happens on the device and isn't stored or sent anywhere.
Lock Screen, widgets and Siri
While a session runs, DiveDeeper can show a Live Activity on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island with the sound name, the countdown and the tone setting. Anyone who can see your Lock Screen can see it; you can turn Live Activities off in iOS Settings > DiveDeeper. Widgets, Siri and Shortcuts only open the app and start a session. They don't send anything off your device, and the Live Activity uses no push notifications.
Children
DiveDeeper doesn't collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If the app ever starts collecting information, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy label before that version is released.
